      <![CDATA[  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">As per previous notices, during October, there will be early release Wednesdays every week. </span></p>    <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">In this month, the focus of our professional development will be differentiation. On October 1 and October 15 we will be learning with Lee Worcester, an expert in this specific area of teaching.</span></p>    <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">Below are the remaining dates of the early release Wednesdays for 2008-09.</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">- November 12, December 10, </span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">&nbsp;&nbsp; January 14, February 11, </span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">&nbsp;&nbsp; March 11, April 8, May 13 </span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">&nbsp;&nbsp; and June 10.</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">- Dismissal time will be 12:00 p.m.</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">- Student lunch will be served.</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">- Stretch Beyond and recreational </span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">&nbsp;&nbsp; programs will available for </span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">&nbsp;&nbsp; interested students.</span></p>    <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">Thank you for your support of these professional development opportunities.</span></p>  ]]>

Please remember to dress your children in layers that can either be added or removed.</span></p>    <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">On the day your child has physical education class, make sure comfortable pants, shirt and athletic, rubber soled non-marking shoes are worn by your child.&nbsp; Slip-ons and open backed shoes are not recommended at school as they come off during recess and physical education class.&nbsp; Thank you.</span></p>  ]]>

      <![CDATA[  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt">In honor of the AOTA&rsquo;s&nbsp; Annual National Backpack Awareness Day, celebrated on September 17<sup>th</sup>, Tracy Mason, our school occupational therapist, and Giulia Fornaro, our school physical therapist, visited our classrooms to present information to the students and teachers on backpack safety, pencil grip, handwriting, and posture.</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 8pt">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 11pt">Did you know? </span></strong><span style="font-size: 11pt">Thousands of emergency visits every year are related to backpacks and book bags? It is recommended that a loaded backpack weigh no more than 15% of the student&rsquo;s body weight. So remember, pack it light and wear it right!</span></p>  ]]>
