Mark your calendars for the Scholastic Book Fair at Kennebunk Elementary School, May 14 - May 18. We will have many wonderful Scholastic books for sale. The Book Fair will be open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday the Fair will be open for Family Night until 7:30 p.m. All proceeds from the Fair benefit the KES School Library. See you then!

KES READING CELEBRATION!
KES will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday, and the 50th anniversary of The Cat in the Hat, in a special way. Students may create Dr. Seuss themed art at home or in the classroom the week of 2/12 - 2/16. We'll display it around KES. Parents and students, you might want to visit this web site for lots of Dr. Seuss fun. www.catinthehat.com
Our Monday morning meeting on 2/26 will have a special guest, The Cat in the Hat! We'll sing "Dr. Seuss, we love you!" and each student will receive a special sticker.
Wednesday, 2/28, will be Read What You Wear Day. (Parents, please make sure words on clothing are school appropriate.)
Friday, 3/2, is Dr. Seuss's birthday and we'll celebrate with classroom read-a-thons throughout the school. A Dr. Seuss themed lunch will also be served in our cafeteria.
]]>Each KES class visits library once a week for thirty minutes. The first fifteen minutes are for library/information skills instruction or a read aloud. The second fifteen minutes are for book selection and check out. Open library mornings are available twice a week for individual and small group research and general library use.
