Dear Students and Parents,

I hope you are enjoy the remaining days of your summer vacation. I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jeff Rodman and I am the new principal of Middle School of the Kennebunks. I am honored to be the principal of your school.

I come to MSK after four years as principal of Falmouth Middle School. Before Falmouth, I spent nine years in Wells as principal of their junior high. Prior to that I was assistant principal of a high school in Vermont and had been a math teacher for 16 years at a middle school in Massachusetts. I have also coached football, soccer, basketball, baseball and track.

I grew up near Boston, went to college in South Dakota, and did my graduate work to become a principal at Harvard University. My interests include running, biking, skiing, and watching the Red Sox, Patriots, and now the Celtics. I also enjoy reading, traveling, and watching old movies.

I began working at the school on July 1st and have had the opportunity to meet many of your teachers. There is no doubt that some of the best teachers in Maine work right here in the Middle School of the Kennebunks. They are dedicated, hard working, caring and prepared to make this next school year your best ever.

In addition to having a new principal, there will also be a new assistant principal. Mrs. Jean Beaulieu is the new assistant principal. Mrs. Beaulieu has been an 8th grade English teacher at MSK for the last nine years. I am excited to be working with her.

I am also excited for the school year to begin. One of my goals is to meet each and every student in our school. My expectations for you are that you come to school each day ready to learn, are prepared to be an active and positive member of our school, and that you treat each other, our staff, and our building with the respect we all deserve.

Mrs. Beaulieu and I look forward to meeting each of you when you return to school on September 2nd and we hope that you, just as your teachers are, prepared to make this next school year your best ever. Enjoy the rest of your summer vacation.

Look for periodic updates from me regarding what's happening at MSK.

Sincerely

Jeff Rodman, Principal
