         <title>The Board of School Directors</title>
         <description><![CDATA[  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">The Board of School Directors invites all Kennebunk and Kennebunkport taxpayers&nbsp; to participate in a confidential summit on Wednesday, April 9.&nbsp; Members of the Board will be available for conversation and questions from 7 to 9 PM at Kennebunk  High School.&nbsp; Please plan to meet in Room 5, enter through the Superintendent's office door, at 7 PM&nbsp; for a brief overview of the process.</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">The purpose of these summits is to provide another means of communication between the Board and the various interest groups in the District.&nbsp; In the past, the Board has held three Teacher Summits, one each at the Elementary, Middle, and High School levels; a support staff summit; parents summit; graduated student summit; and high school student summit.&nbsp; The findings were reported to the full Board and also to the Superintendent so that he could follow up on items that warranted further study.&nbsp; </span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">This year the Board will be meeting with taxpayers on April 9, and with the graduated students in mid-June, in their continuing effort to hear from all stakeholders in the District.</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">The format will be three short questions from the Board about the District, followed by an open session for any questions or discussion you might wish to </span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">pursue.&nbsp; All information will be kept confidential, with no names or identifying facts provided.&nbsp; The Board will prepare two reports, one for the public and another for the Superintendent, both maintaining confidentiality.&nbsp; The reports will be presented a future Board meeting.</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">Please feel free to contact any Board member or the Superintendent's Administrative Assistant (985-1100 or dgillette@msad71.net) if you have questions about the meeting or the process.&nbsp; Thank you in advance for your participation!</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">Kevin</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial; color: black">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 16pt">&nbsp;</span></p>  ]]></description>

         <title>Important Dates to Remember</title>
         <description><![CDATA[OPEN HOUSE &ndash; Sept. 19th, 2007<br />Our open house is held in order to provide parents with an overview of the year.&nbsp;&nbsp; Each teacher will review the curriculum, speak about daily routines, homework, and expectations.&nbsp; Our staff will also answer any questions you may have.&nbsp; We look forward to visiting with you.&nbsp; This is one of the few events at Sea Road which is for parents only.<br />The&nbsp; fourth grade classes and Mrs. Zerbinopoulos will meet from 6:30-7:15.&nbsp; The fifth grade classes and Mrs. Kimball will meet from 7:30-8:15.&nbsp; This is a date change from my opening day letter.&nbsp; My apologies for any inconvenience.<br /><br />PICTURE DAY<br />ON Wednesday, Sept. 19th, the photographers from Kavanaugh Studios will be here to take individual and class photos of your children.&nbsp; The photo will be taken in the morning. Please watch for the flyer!<br /><br />PTA Meeting<br />On Thursday, Sept. 20th the PTA will hold their first meeting of the year.&nbsp; The meeting will be held at KES in the Library.&nbsp; The meeting starts at 6:30 and is over by 8PM.&nbsp;&nbsp; There is baby sitting provided.<br /><br />PTA ICE CREAM SOCIAL<br />On Thursday, Sept. 27th the PTA will host the annual Ice Cream Social.&nbsp; The social will be held at KES in the cafeteria from 5:00 &ndash; 7:00 PM.&nbsp; This is a terrific way to meet new families!&nbsp; Please consider joining us!<br /><br />Lunch Notes<br />Please know that as parents you have control over which lunch items your child may purchase.&nbsp; If you would like to restrict the purchase of chips or ice cream please call 985-1105 and ask for Ginny.&nbsp; You may also send a note through your classroom teacher.&nbsp; Thank you!<br /><br />BRICK STORE MUSEUM<br />The Brick Store Museum is hosting a great event for kids and families in September!~ On September 15th, see REAL Wild Things at the Museum &ndash; live Maine raptors, reptiles, &amp; mammals from The Center for Wildlife will be on hand as a tie-in with our ongoing Wild Things folk art exhibition.&nbsp; For more information about these and other Museum programs, visit&nbsp; http://www.brickstoremuseum.org <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Kevin<br /><br /><br /><br />]]></description>
