We hope you will join us for lively book discussions, light refreshments and an opportunity to meet other parents and children who love books as much as you do. Book groups are a great way to foster independent thinking and opinion-making and also give children the opportunity to share their ideas about what they read with their parents.

Our meetings will take place right after school in the library for about 45 minutes. We will provide the copies of the book. If you are interested in joining us, be sure and pick up your copies of our first book at the OPEN HOUSE this week. Copies of the books will also be available in the office if you are unable to attend Open House. We are planning to meet every 6 weeks throughout the school year. A listing of upcoming books and meeting dates will follow soon.

FIRST MEETING DATE: October 16th, Sea Road Library - 3:00 to 3:45

OUR FIRST BOOK: Whittington by Alan Armstrong

Whittington, a feline descendent of Dick Whittington’s famous cat of English folklore, appears at a rundown barnyard plagued by rats and restores harmony while telling his ancestor’s story. Readers who enjoyed E.B. White’s classic tale, Charlotte’s Web will especially treasure this story-within-a-story.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please email or call Terri Bauld at 985-1105 or tbauld @msad71.net.

HAPPY READING and see you October 16th.
