note from Mrs. Campbell #4

Hi Everyone,

Social Studies:  We have begun our studies about the Native Americans.  Each child will be gathering information about an Indian tribe and creating a poster.  We will spend quite a bit of time in class gathering the necessary information.  The poster will be due October 31.  Other small projects will be going on as well.

Science:  We are studying about energy.

Math:  We are reviewing addition, subtraction, and multiplication using whole numbers and decimals.  Keep reviewing multiplication facts with the children.  This unit also covers estimation.

Reading:  Book reports are due Tuesday, September 30.  The children worked on them during reading class today.  They are writing book reviews and have the criteria.

Spelling:  Unit 4.  The children did a great job on their spelling tests this week. Monday- pg.20 , Tuesday - pg.21,  Wednesday - pg. 22

Scholastic News:  The September 29 issue was distributed today.  The questions are due Friday, October 3.

Important dates:

Early release on every Wednesday during the month of October.

No School on October 13 for Columbus Day.  In the last blog, I had the incorrect date.

York Field Trip on December 1.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.

Sincerely,

Connie Campbell
