      <![CDATA[<p>Oct. 22&nbsp;&nbsp; Noon Dismissal- Teacher Workwhop</p><p>Parents,</p><p><br />Oct. 31 Immigration Day,&nbsp; Students come to school dressed as immigrants with a bag of 3 items that they would have brought with them on their journey. Boys could&nbsp; wear roll up pants with them tucked in to their stockings, a shirt with a collar and vest.&nbsp; Girls could wear long dresses or skirts of Moms with shawls.&nbsp; Food of their country is a choice. Let me know if you have any questions.<br /></p><p>Nov. 13, Thursday-Trip to theKennebunk/Kennebunkport Water Treatment Plant.&nbsp; This is in conjunction with our science unit Watery Earth.&nbsp; We will tour the drinking water plant.</p><p>I will need two chaperones.&nbsp; Thank you in advance.</p><p>Mrs Walsh&nbsp;</p>]]>

      <![CDATA[<p>Dear Parents,</p><p>Students continue to be very engaged in their learning.</p><p>We have finished <u>Owls in the Family</u>&nbsp; They should all know how to write a summary of a chapter or a book.&nbsp; Also, they should know all the jobs in a Literature Circle.&nbsp; Book reports are due Nov. 5th.&nbsp; This will be a poster of a special part of their fiction book.</p><p>Spelling is improving and some are really trying hard to earn their gold medals.</p><p>Multiplication facts are an important part of Unit 3 in Everyday Math.&nbsp; Please try to spend 10 minutes a night practicing with your child.<br /></p><p>We are busy researching our country for the Immigration Unit.&nbsp; Also, a letter is being composed about the voyage to this country from their homeland.<br /></p><p>Ellis Island arrival date is Friday, October 31st.&nbsp; Students should come wearing as much of his/her outfit as possible. They also need a basket. sack, or small old suitcase to carry three items from the old country.&nbsp; (old book, doll, stuffed animal etc.)&nbsp;</p><p>We would like to thank Matt Lamper's mother, Chloe Smith's friend, and Ally Coughlan's dad for helping out by chaperoning to the Wells Reserve.&nbsp; It was a fantastic day and a real learning experience for the students.</p><p>Conferences are coming soon in November.&nbsp; I will be in touch with everyone to set up a date. &nbsp;</p><p>I appreciate your continued support with your child's homework.</p><p>Mrs. Walsh&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>]]>

      <![CDATA[<p>Dear Parents,</p><p>&nbsp;I just want to share a few things.&nbsp;&nbsp; We all had a great week, but the most exciting was all the students received 90% or above on their spelling test today!&nbsp;&nbsp; WOW!!&nbsp; I have never had that happen before.&nbsp; These are sight words that follow no rules or pattern.&nbsp; They just have to practice, practice.&nbsp; Thanks for all your efforts in helping them accomplish this goal.&nbsp; Do you think it's those gold olympic medals they want so badly?</p><p>We finished Unit 1 in Everyday Math and will begin Unit 2 on Monday.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;I also want to thank all of you who made it to Parent Infomation Night on Monday.&nbsp; It was great meeting the parents of these wonderful children that I get to spend so much time with. </p><p>Everyone is working very hard here.&nbsp; If you have any concerns or questions please e-mail me.<br /></p><p>Have a wonderful relaxing weekend and enjoy your children.</p><p>CWalsh&nbsp;</p>]]>
