This Week
Today is our African American Read-In. The Desmarais's family friend, Carolyn Broad, came in to read The Talking Eggs an old African tale. She is also our mystery reader for this week. If you would like to come in and be a mystery reader just let me know. It can be another day besides Friday if that works better for you.
We are still looking for a few brave snowshoers! Today and next Monday the students will be snowshoeing from 1:55-2:40. Come and join us!
Thank you to the Krutuleski family for sending in some sponges. We could use some more if you have the chance to pick some up. We are also starting to run low on snacks. The Bickford's and Borden's large contributions have lasted us a long time!
I will be sending home a Valentine's list. We will be having a party at the end of that day. If your child would like to bring in Valentines they can, but they need to bring them in for everyone. If you would like to bring in a snack, juice, or paper supplies, let me know.
Please make sure you are checking your child's assignment book each night. I have written a few notes in the books that I don't think parents have seen. You might want to go back a couple weeks to see if I wrote you a note. The kids conveniently forget to get their books signed that night! :)
On February 12th (Lincoln's birthday) we will be having a presidential parade here at school. Your child needs to come in dressed as his/her president. If your child is female, they can come dressed as either the president or first lady. We have all learned a little about our president and will be looking forward to seeing you along the parade route if you can join us. We will be parading around the halls of the school and end up in the gym around 8:45. Please join us there and you can ask us questions.
Have a great week!
