RSS

What is a feed? What is RSS?

A feed is basically an automated subscription service. If you subscribe to a feed then text, media, or some other form of information will be pushed out to you in an email, or via a blog reader, newsreader, or podcast. Feeds are based on a platform called RSS. RSS stands for Real Simple Syndicate and enables an ordinary classroom teacher, principal, or student to become a syndicated author. It is a free service that helps promote efficient and timely communication between producers of content (us) and their audience (you).

The reason to subscribe is to be sure that you are getting the latest news. If you don't make it a habit of checking the school's web pages daily, you can still be aware of postings and information that interests you by checking your email. We are using a service called Feedblitz. It is set up so that you can enter your email address and have new entries sent to your mailbox the day that they are posted. If nothing is posted to the blog you have subscribed to, then nothing gets sent to you via email.

You may always unsubscribe if you find the service to be too encumbering, and in order for the service to be turned on you must validate by answering an email. The subscription service works for both Mac and Windows users.
