Welcome!
I can’t wait to get started with this school year and get to know all of you and especially your kids!
Your child will be growing so much during this second grade year—both physically and educationally. They will be learning about multiplication and division, other cultures, life cycles, time lines, motion, and SO much more!
We will continue to build on the reading skills they achieved in First Grade and we will also begin doing more writing this year. They will work on autobiographies, stories and reports.
Most every night there will be some homework for your child to complete. Part of what they are responsible for is doing some reading each day. At least 15 minutes is required, but the reading material can be anything they choose! Time that you spend reading to them can also be included in their reading totals. There will also be a nightly math worksheet. This math homework will be a review of what we worked on during class. It will be used the next day before moving on with the next lesson, so it is very important that it come back with them!
I look forward to this coming year and working with your child!
Warmly,
Nici Roubo
