September News
I can't beleive that we have been in school for seven days now!!! The students have adjusted extremely well. The routines of the classroom, lunch, specials and of course the playground have come right into place. We have begun our student of the day and this is a great opportunity for the students to take a little more individual resposibilty around our school. They love it!
We have started our Growth and Change theme this month as well as learning about our names. If you haven't sent in a baby picture of your child yet, please do.
This week we have had guided discovery in a lot of areas in the classroom. We have explored markers, crayons, unifix cubes, legos, pattern blocks, house keeping area as well as the sand table. The students have been making smart choices in all areas, and using their time wisely.
Eric Carle is a big part of our literacy theme this month. If you would like to send in some of your child's favorite Eric Carle books, we would love to read them together. We will start The Very Hungry Caterpillar next week.
We have begun our discussion on our HOPES and DREAMS for the year. These will tie nicely into our classroom expectations.
Please do not hesitate to call or email me with any concerns or comments you might have. What a fantastic start to a wonderful new year in school.
Thanks for all your support.
