Just a couple of reminders for next week…

1. We will not have SN or spelling. 
2. Wednesday is a half day.
3. Book reports are due on Monday.  The summaries for these only need to be about 250 words long. 

It has been wonderful catching up with all of you over the last several weeks.  I truly enjoy each day I spend with your children.

1.  There is no school on Tuesday and Wednesday is an early release. 
2.  There will be spelling next week, but no SN.
3.  Corrected Math Box packets 3 and 4 are due by Thursday.  The students found out about this yesterday and many have already finished correcting the packets.
4. The Holiday Fair is fast approaching.  Each year all classes are responsible for a raffle basket.  Ours is a candle basket so anything to do with candles is great.

The POW WOW projects came out great.  The students truly rose to the occasion!!  It has been wonderful to catch up with everyone at conferences.  As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

A couple of updates for next week…

1.Book reports are due on Monday.

3.The POWWOW posters are due a week from Monday.  (November 3rd)
4.This coming Wednesday will be our last early release for October.

A few reminders for this week…

*I will be sending home a conference sign up sheet today.  Please send this back as soon as possible to get your top pick.  If none of these times work for you then let me know. 
*This Wednesday is an early release day.
*There is no SN this week, but there is spelling.
*The last paragraph for the POWWOW project is due on Wednesday.  I have encouraged the children to make sure they reread their paragraphs since I did NOT edit them.  They should begin working on the poster soon.  If anyone needs a piece of poster board, please let me know ASAP.
* The book report is due next Monday, the 27th.

A few updates for next week…

*We will have SN and spelling next week. 
*Wednesday is an early release. 
*I will offer homework help on Tuesday this coming week due to the day off on Monday. 
*Next Friday the students will have paragraphs due for geography and land, weapons and tools, and arts and crafts for their POW WOW project.  Again these need to be in final draft form and typed.

1. This Wednesday will be an early release.
2. I will have homework help on Monday from 3:00-4:00.  Please remember to send a note or email in with your child so I know that he or she is supposed to stay. 
3. There will be NO SN this week, but we will still have spelling. 
4. On Friday (October 10th) we will have three paragraphs due for the Native American project.  The students know that these are supposed to be typed and in final draft form.  If having these typed is a problem please let me know. 
5. The fundraising packets are due this Monday.
6. We are currently collecting new and unused toys for a toy drive benefiting the Maine Children’s Cancer Program. 
7. The next book report is a mystery and it is a written report.  I am sending the requirements home with the students today.  The report will be due on October 27th.

A few reminders for next week…

* The book reports are due on Monday.  We talked today about just needing a small summary to accompany any projects (1-2 minutes).  There is no need for the summaries to be passed in so they don’t need to be edited.  

* Next Wednesday, and all of the Wednesdays in October will be Early Releases. 

* We started our Native American research this week.  The students should have a scoring guide for the projects attached to their homework folders.  I will be sending home an informational letter to all parents on Monday, and I will also send home a calendar for the students to follow.  The projects will be due on November 3rd , and the Pow Wow is on November 7th. 

* We will have spelling and Scholastic News next week.

*The fundraising order forms and money are due back to school on October, 6th.  There was a typo on the form that went home in Thursday’s mail.

Here are some items for the upcoming weeks…

* I will not have homework help tomorrow due to a meeting I have.

* On Thursday there will be an Ice Cream Social from 4:30-6:00 at KES. 

* We will have a SN test and a spelling test on Friday. 

* We are continuing to work on Night of the Twisters and our Energy unit. 

* The book report is due on September 29th.  All students should start working on their project this week so they are not stressed this upcoming weekend.  In addition to the project, all students should be prepared to give a short summary (1-2 minutes) about their book.  This does not need to be handed into me so students should not stress out about the summary too much.

Several reminders for the upcoming week…

1. This Wednesday will be an early release.  Students will be dismissed at 12:00.

2. Open House will be on Monday the 15th from 7:30-8:15.

3. We will start the book Night of the Twisters next week. 

4. Scholastic News questions are due next Friday and we will also have a quiz that day.  We went through the questions today so the kids have a better idea of what is expected.

5. Our specials schedule is as follows: Monday- PE, Tuesday- Music, Wednesday- Art, Thursday- Library, and Friday- Computer.

6. Band lessons are on the following days: Monday-Flutes, Tuesday- Clarinets, Wednesday-Saxophones, Thursday-Brass, and Friday-Percussion.  Lessons are from 7:45-8:30 and will begin this Monday.
